Committed to providing excellence in diagnostic imaging, Akumin is on a mission to be the preferred provider.  Our facility is currently looking for an experienced X-Ray Technologist to join our team.  The X-Ray Technologist is responsible for obtaining x-rays of the human body for valuable diagnostic information.

X-Ray Technologist / X-Ray Tech / X-Ray

The X-Ray Technologist will:

• Prepare patients for the procedure and position them for the best possible outcome.
• Properly screen patients for contra indications for radiographic procedures
• Explain the procedure to patients.  
• Process x-ray images
• Utilize principles of ALARA and proper radiation safety techniques.
• Demonstrate competency of the 10-day rule (pregnancy clearance)
• Keeps records of x-ray image, unit activities, and related records.  Assists in the care and maintenance of x-ray equipment.

X-Ray Technologist / X-Ray Tech / X-Ray

Qualified candidates will have:

Education

• Completion of an accredited ARRT 

Other Skills and Abilities

• Familiarity with current software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
