    Regional Chief Technologist / Regional Chief Tech

     

    The Regional Chief Technologist is responsible for ensuring that the delivery of the high standards of patient care mandated by the organization are met in the provision of services and in the interaction with patients, families, physicians, and other personnel. The Regional Chief Technologist is also responsible for assisting the Regional Director of Imaging in the areas of accreditation, state inspections, quality audit reports for their assigned centers, as well assist with Technologist Staff Scheduling.

    The responsibilities of the position are comprised of three functions: technical services, quality assurance, and liaison. The technician must recognize that these three functions are frequently intertwined:

    • Perform high quality diagnostic imaging services in a timely professional, confidential, personally attentive manner;
    • Ensures all required supplies are on hand to avoid disruption of service;
    • Promptly investigates and reports for correction any service malfunction to ensure minimal downtime. Maintains detailed accurate records of service calls by company;
    • Maintains high level of visibility and interaction with: center personnel, radiologists, and support personnel;
    • Maintains good customer relations with referring physicians and handles all calls/conversations with these physicians;
    • Works with the Regional Director of Imaging and Radiologists to ensure protocols are current and quality services are being provided. Consults with Radiologist regarding situation requiring physician intervention’;
    • Provides thorough technical instruction of new technologists and students as required;
    • Ensures patient screen information is accurate, identifies and investigates area of concern to preclude patient incidents;
    • Ensuring that all technologists have current licenses;
    • Work closely with lead front office to ensure proper scheduling of exams and workflow is maintained;
    • Assists Regional Director of Imaging with center accreditations;
    • Assists Regional Director of Imaging with preparing centers for state inspections;
    • Assists Regional Director of Imaging with preparing quality audit reports for centers;
    • Assists Regional Director of Imaging with technical issues and protocol implementation;
    • Assists Regional Director of Imaging with monitoring DPS/DEA license expiration dates;
    • Assists Regional Director of Imaging with Technologist Staff Scheduling;
    • Ability and willingness to receive and handle after hours and weekend clinical issues ensuring escalation to the Regional Director of Imaging when necessary;
    • Performs other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Regional Chief Technologist / Regional Chief Tech

    • ARRT or ARMRIT Certification, knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, and at least one year of MRI experience.
    • V. skills required.
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills; a high level of adaptability and problem solving capabilities.
    • The ability to interact with Radiologists, referring physicians, and center personnel while maintaining a high level of credibility in a fast-paced environment is of utmost importance;
    • Reports technical issues to the Regional Director of Imaging.

     

    Education

    • High School Graduate
    • Completion of approved ARRT/ARMRIT program, current licenses from ARRT/ARMRIT, TDH and appropriate level CPR and First Aid.

     

    Other Skills and Abilities

    • Familiarity with current software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
